湖南省交通規(guī)劃勘察設(shè)計院有限公司成立于1960年，是具有對外經(jīng)濟合作經(jīng)營資格的國家甲級綜合大型勘察設(shè)計企業(yè)，同時是湖南省高新技術(shù)企業(yè)。持有國家工程勘察綜合類、公路全行業(yè)、水運全行業(yè)、市政行業(yè)(含道路工程、橋梁工程、城市隧道工程、公共交通工程)和建筑行業(yè)(建筑工程)等5大類甲級勘察設(shè)計資質(zhì)及國家工程咨詢、工程測量、試驗檢測、地質(zhì)災(zāi)害防治等4大類甲級資質(zhì)。
Founded in 1960, Hunan Provincial Communications Planning, Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. is a large state-owned class-A enterprise of survey and design with Operating Qualification Certificate for Foreign Economic Cooperation and a high-tech provincial institute of Hunan. It holds 5 class-A certificates of survey and design in the fields of comprehensive national engineering survey and design, highway, water carriage, construction (construction engineering) and municipal sectors including projects of road, bridge, city tunnel and public transportation.It also has 4 class-A certificates such as national engineering consulting, engineering survey, test and detection and prevention and control of geological disasters.

The institute has 630 employees including 210 with doctoral or master degree and 94% of the staff are professional technicians with 78% senior and intermediate ones, among which over 140 are provincial or ministerial experts. It also has more than 80 awardees of honorary titles including “the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents”, State Council special allowance, “Youth Talents of Transportation Science and Technology” and “National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers”.

EXCELLENT DESIGN ABILITY. The institute has successfully completed classic works with good reputation throughout the whole industry including Hunan section of the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, Changde-Zhangjiajie Highway, Aizhai Bridge in Xiangxi,Dongting Lake Bridge, Xuefeng Mountain Tunnel, Ya’an-Xichang Highway with dual spiral tunnel,the Comprehensive pivot of Changsha, and Xianing Harbor, with over 420 excellent projects winning national and ministerial and provincial level awards for surveying and designing, consulting, and scientific and technological advancement, among which over 50 awards are of national level i.e. 1 First Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 5 Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 7 National Golden Award for Excellent Engineering Design, 5 Zhantianyou Civil Engineering Award, 1 A Hundred Excellent Projects of State Environmental Protection, 2 National Environmental Friendly Projects and 4 of the 60 Classic Projects Award of Highway Transportation Survey and Design on the 60th Anniversary of China.
